Warranty Policy

Every part we sell is covered by our commercial warranty, and your statutory consumer rights always apply on top of anything outlined below.

What’s Covered

  • New Hardware Parts: Covered for 24 months against manufacturing defects and failure under normal use.
  • Used Hardware Parts: Covered for 6 months against defects and failure under normal use. Used parts are verified to be in working condition prior to dispatch.
  • Coding Sessions: We guarantee the coded feature will function as described for your specific VIN. If the coding fails to take effect due to our software or process, we will re-code the feature or issue a refund.

What’s Not Covered (Warranty Exclusions)

This warranty does not apply to parts that have failed due to external factors. The warranty is strictly voided if the fault is caused by:

  • Broken Tamper Seals: Removal, alteration, or breaking of the Prolazo warranty sticker, tamper-evident seal, or serial number on any used part.
  • Improper Installation: Damage resulting from incorrect installation, physical damage, dropping, or improper handling.
  • Electrical Damage: Short circuits, water ingress, power surges, or faults caused by pre-existing issues in the vehicle’s own wiring harness or other modules.
  • Modifications: Any attempt to open the casing of a module, modify the internal circuitry, or apply third-party software/flashes.
  • Manufacturer Overwrites: BMW dealer software updates or Over-The-Air (OTA) updates that revert aftermarket coding back to factory settings. (We will advise you on this risk prior to coding.)

Statutory Rights

For consumers in the EU, goods must conform to the contract. Under EU law, you have a statutory legal guarantee of at least 2 years for new goods. For used goods, Prolazo limits its liability to 1 year, which you agree to by purchasing a used part from us. However, if the mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence strictly prohibit reducing the legal guarantee for second-hand goods below 2 years, those mandatory local laws will apply. This commercial warranty is provided in addition to — and does not limit — your statutory rights.

Making a Claim

  • Contact Us: Email info@prolazo.com with your order number, a clear description of the fault, and photos or a short video demonstrating the issue.
  • Troubleshooting: We will work with you remotely to troubleshoot. For complex electronic modules, we may request a diagnostic scan report (e.g., ISTA or standard OBD2 codes) to verify the nature of the fault.
  • Inspection & Resolution: If authorized, you will ship the part back to us. If the part is confirmed defective under warranty, we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund, and reimburse your return shipping costs.
  • No Fault Found: If a returned item is bench-tested by our technicians and found to be in full working order, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping costs to have the item sent back to them.
